Caution!! Stay bright!!


It’s been two weeks that I didn’t post anything on my blog. During that period, I’ve been searched some information about other artists, also I got some inspirations from them.

Also, there’s one thing I cannot dined about, I got lost… I kept asking myself, what is the definition of designer? What is designer? And for example, as a jeweller, so that I’m not able to do something cross disciplines? Well, maybe I should ask myself about what is the definition of design first… Still remember that I used to read a book which called ” DO YOU MATTER? HOW GREAT DESIGN WILL MAKE PEOPLE LOVE YOUR COMPANY “. I really fancy that book, because there are some questions in that book, and as a designer you have to take those questions seriously. It is a really though provoking book. Moreover, it helps me think a lot also deeper.

Luckily, I found the way to collect the informations that I want, also i found the way to express myself. In arts, there’s nothing right or wrong I suppose. Everyone has their own way to find the way, to find the direction.


In this two weeks… I found myself a bit…

Everyone has their own dreams. It depends on how you achieve them. Just don’t follow others’ maps while creating your own journey. Some the most beautiful people are the ones who don’t fit into the boxes. No matter where you are, keep sparkling.

” BRAND & BRAND – THINKING. “. I had a really thought provoking lecture, the lecturer was Toby Lyons. ” Today, brand is the term used to refer to the “name, design, symbol, or other feature that distinguishes one seller’s product from another. “. The content was really intriguing, my brain kept working the whole time. As a designer, what is my philosophy? Does the world become better because of me? And why people come to me? Why I am important? Does an individual brand better or a company? And what is the style of my product? And how I’m going to present it?

Brand is a word in the mantra – so what does this mean exactly and why do I care.

Does it a good idea to create a brand by myself or not, if I think deeper and wider, everyone is their own brand and it is unique. ” Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak. “. – Rachel Zoe. The reason why is because the way we dress, the way we behave, the way we talk etc, all of this details present ourselves. This could be the reason why the first impression exist. Take iceberg for example, there is only around 10% of iceberg visible, which contains Logo, Advertising, Brand name, etc. However, there are approximately 90% of iceberg is invisible, like some key assets and competencies, such as high quality, efficient production, strong R&D, etc.

Brand is an idea, is a confidence of the idea, is a sensible about the loyalty, is an emotion, is an experience.

Brand matters, and you are your own brand.

WHY DESIGN MATTERS – GOING GLOBAL

Design matters. But why it matters? And as a designer, why I matters to other people. These are the questions I’ve been thinking a lot. There is this saying, ” A business is simply an idea to make people’s lives better. ” (Brandson, 2013).


There are many successful entrepreneurs regard the challenge as an opportunity, also it is the way to let themselves come closer to the success. It is the same as designers, they have to find what is the best solution for the challenge or problems that them bump into. Generally the successful people will keep trying to find the answer of the question, by doing this can progress the ongoing project smoothly. Especially in this modern society, design driven is one of the essential part, especially for the company. Consequently, cross cultural design become the most essential point for companies. Cross cultural design is for different cultures, languages, and economic standings by using designing technology (Walsh, 2009).

What is cross cultural design? Why nowadays companies started to concern about it? In this point, it is clear to be seen that companies are expanding their customers on across national and cultural boundaries basis. In order to across the cultural boundaries, companies have to ensure the usability and user experience for the costumer. Why cross cultural design matters? And usually it expresses via technology quite often, due to we are in the modern society. People are able to absorb information via internet quite easy. Technology is always contextualized in a culture and users interpret products based on their culture backgrounds and values. Take McDonalds’s for example, the company produces some new products in order to cater specially to  different countries costumers. Therefore, cross cultural design always has a link between user experience and culture, which contains some dimensions in product development.
